About us

Teadliku Elu Keskus MTÜ

Teadliku Elu Keskus MTÜ is an Estonian registered nonprofit organisation (registry code 80660058) creating clear and accessible ways to become acquainted with meditation.

We host weekly meditation meetings in Jõhvi, share simple practice guides and arrange small-group retreats by advance registration. Adults from Ida-Virumaa and elsewhere in Estonia are welcome, including those trying meditation for the first time.

Why we exist

Many people want a calmer relationship with attention and a clearer way to notice their experience, but do not know where to start. Our purpose is to make the first step manageable: a clear instruction, a comfortable pace and room for practical questions.

We do not present meditation as medical treatment and do not require a religious affiliation. We introduce skills that people can try in ordinary life and adapt to their own circumstances and wellbeing.

What we actually do

A guided meditation meeting takes place in Jõhvi every Wednesday. This website offers free guides for beginners, home practice and bringing attention into everyday activities. Visits to Allika take place only after the group, date and format have been agreed.

At a meeting, the facilitator explains the steps, allows time for quiet practice and answers questions. A participant may sit on a chair or mat and choose a position that works for them.

Who and where

Our main activity is in Jõhvi and Ida-Virumaa. Website resources are open across Estonia and published in three languages so that local people can find a reliable introduction in a language they understand.

Teadliku Elu Keskus MTÜ is responsible for local activities, participant communication and the use of donations. Contact us directly about participation, cooperation or accessibility needs.

Our principles

01

Simplicity

Meditation can be part of ordinary life.

02

Openness

No particular religion, worldview or previous experience is required.

03

Community

Practising together is often easier than alone.

04

Accessibility

We want practices to be accessible to people with varied experience and abilities.

05

Awareness

Practice begins with what is happening right now.
